Epidural anesthesia of which effectiveness has proved on the protection of organs, is preferred particularly in high-risk patients. However this anesthesia technique has life-threatening complications. The symptoms occurring for any reason during epidural anesthesia resemble the symptoms of such complications for which reason the diagnosis of anaphylaxis can be easily missed. Epidural anestezinin organları koruması üzerine ispatlanmış etkileri olduğundan, yüksek riskli hastalarda özellikle tercih edilmektedir. Ancak, bu anestezi tekniği yaşamı tehdit eden komplikasyonlara sahiptir. Epidural anestezi altındayken herhangi bir nedenle gelişen anaflaksi tablosundaki bulgular, bu tarz komplikasyonların bulgularıyla benzerlik gösterdiğinden, anaflaksi tanısı kolaylıkla gözden kaçabilmektedir.
